how was your Mother's Day?

woke up with Ayden wishing me happy mother's day, followed by him asking me when is it children's day. he didn't buy the every day is children's day, so we told him he can have one after father's day.

Ayden and DH then disappeared to the kitchen. i was called outside and we sat at our new picnic table in the warm sunshine and I got served poached eggs on toast and bacon and a nice big mug of filter coffee.

we then began the hunt looking for the pedal to my sewing machine, which i haven't used since we moved. in our hunt we ended up spring cleaning almost the entire house we had so much fun and unpacked boxes we hadn't unpacked yet since we moved 2.5yrs ago it feels great to have everything so organised and tidied, not sure how long it'll last for oh and the pedal ended up being in the sewing machine case...after all of that!

so had an amazing day spent with my 2 men

Good morning everyone. Hope you had a great weekend.

I need to vent...

We've been living in the same flat since we moved to Jhb in 2007. While we've been lucky in that our landlord likes us and has only increased the rent twice in a 5 year period, we have been through or fair share of drama...
* 3 days with no water in 2010
* 3 days of no electricity in 2011 (because someone in the building apparently called the department and asked them to shut it off)
* only 1 working lift 70% of the time we've been here
* moronic security guards
* a old lady with 2 dogs that has her nose in everyone's business
* the man who parks next to us as bashes his car door into ours every day...twice a day
* chinese mafia running around trying to kill each other for sleeping with the other's woman
and the list goes on...

And in our latest drama, we have had no working lift for over 2 weeks...and i live on the 5th floor! I do the trek at least twice a day, i can't do proper grocery shopping and if i go into pre-term labour i might just shoot someone. The lift company cant give any timeframe as to when they will fix the lift. The body corporate are a bunch of useless loonies who coming knocking on MY door to sort out the problems and the managing agents don't give a hoo-haa! I really don't know what to do at this point!

We are getting away with a 'cheap' rental considering the going rate so moving will just land is in more financial trouble. Plus i cant see myself packing up this place before the boys arrive. sigh...i'm having a pitty party of note.

anyone else want to vent and join me in my corner?

Second Court Ruling On Mmr Vaccine And Autism Link

Looking For Admin Help

Hi All

I am looking for someone to help me out a few hours a day or 3 mornings a week with admin.

The person should be well organised and have some knowledge of the social networking sites like FB etc.

Position will entail:

Basic admin functions
Posting on FB and other social sites for advertising
Using the internet extensively
Basic stock control.

A SAHM looking for a bit of income on the side would be ideal. Otherwise anyone with some knowledge of babies and baby "stuff" would be good. The person will have to come into the shop in Centurion.

If you know of anyone please let me know.

My 'baby' brother was selected to play cricket for the Unsworth Cricket Club in Manchester. He left last month and he will be ther til september. I am sooo very proud of him! He is a 4th generation cricket player in my family with my great grandfather being one of the pioneers of Indian cricket in South Africa. Here are some pics from his last match. We have a little bit of extra money and we're considering investing in some camping equipment. Now that Quin actually gets paid leave we want to try and go away every long weekend that we can, looking at taking a long weekend in August as woman's day is on the Thursday.

Any suggestions as to what to buy in terms of a decent tent that isn't going to cost us a small fortune as I have to replace my camera to.

Normally from April, things start slowing down and I find we have more weekends free than not. However this year, it just keeps on being busy, we never seem to have a free moment or a weekend that is entirely free.

I was at Westpack in Krugersdorp and couldn't find them. They had stock, but sold out and don't know when they'll get stock again.

Has ANYONE seen them anywhere? I just need one and it must be see through plastic. They are on bid or buy, but it's an auction item and I need to pay R50 for shipping :?

Maybe China mall will have them, but I have no idea what goes on there and it's far from me. Anyone going to Westpack at Lifestyle or Alberton who can check there for me please?

1. Do you colour your hair at home or do you get it done at a hair salon?
2. If at home, which brand do you prefer
3. I have very thick shoulder length hair. Would you say one or 2 boxes?
4. Do you use those hair colouring combs / brushes or do you just pile it all on and rub it through?

I use to colour my hair at the salon, but it's getting too expensive. Thinking I'm gonna try it myself and try not to make a mess of it
